So why am I telling you that you must teach on them if you are already doing it? What I am wondering is if we are doing it wrong. When you look at the statistics and the dysfunction of our students have we missed the mark? My guess is when it comes to dating you either ignore the issue or you tell your students not to date. It was less than two months. Every time I deal with a break-up, I try my best to remember my high school break-ups. Feeling legitimately rejected legitimately hurts.
The awkwardness of a fresh breakup sends out ripples that can make everyone in the room feel uncomfortable. After a period of time usually shorter than a month, a lot of that awkwardness has worn off, and a student can be coaxed and encouraged to return. Begin that mentoring relationship with the expectation that the student will come back to youth group in a few weeks. After the first few meetings, invite other students — obviously not the ex — from the youth group to join you.

In this passage, Paul describes Jesus as a husband to the church, who loves us, gives himself for us, and sanctifies us. And what Paul wants to communicate, is that to grow youth relationship with Christ means to realize just how much Jesus cares for and ministry dating church perfectly, as a perfect husband.
He loves us before we what him. And he is making us new from the inside out. Paul believes if are can understand Jesus as the hero, the husband, are prince — who rescues and saves us in perfect love — then we will be able to love what in the future. REVIEW: The New Rules for Love, Sex, and Dating
Their relationship with Jesus must be mastered now and for all of life, and of course their relationship with their spouse will be later. This study is all about how a relationship with Jesus through the gospel will get them ready for a godly marriage down the road. Their focus should not be a dating, but on marriage.

You remember the girlfriend or boyfriend you had in high school, right? Did it happen? If so, then congrats! Communication is a broad word, but for good reason. The ways in which we communicate with students who are dating can be just as broad. When we teach in a large group, in small groups, in classes, or during one-on-one discipleship, we communicate to students who are in dating relationships, and we need to be aware of them.
I personally think of the students in our ministry who are dating while trying to formulate series on love or relationships or when developing illustrations to communicate a biblical insight. Simply being aware of these relationships help us shepherd our students well during our teaching ministry. A student has a recent break-up, and they are upset.
